I feel like this is going to be a long one…
One of the questions I get asked frequently is about MY BED you all love it and honestly, I do too. It is my favorite piece of furniture in our house and the most special. It was the first piece of ‘nice’ furniture we ordered after getting married and before moving to Maine. We went to the Ethan Allen Quincy store- because I had seen the bed somewhere (maybe a catalogue or magazine?) and I couldn’t get over it. It’s a custom piece, meaning, you select the fabric and nail head finish. Because of this, the turn around time is around 8-12 weeks but honestly it’s so worth the wait. I have had this bed for 8 years now and it looks just as good today as the day we got it delivered. One of my biggest regrets with the bed is that at the time we ordered it, we only ordered the headboard, not the side rails as well.
So fast forward 8 years later and Ethan Allen Quincy actually reached out to me about collaborating. It was a pinch-me moment for sure. That specific location has a special little place in my heart. We discussed a bunch of different things but I kept going back to the bed and how much I loved it. They offered to send me matching bed rails but with a disclaimer that it’s been 8 years and the fabric might not be a perfect match anymore. BUT low and behold, they actually match perfectly and I could not be happier. It’s like having a brand new bed again. To me, it changes the whole look of the bed, even though I am not sure most people would actually notice. It definitely gives it a more chic appeal and the clean lives of the rails versus the flow-y look of the bed skirt I had is a nice change.
Ethan Allen was incredibly generous and also sent me these gorgeous sea shell lamps that I absolutely adore. They add a beach-vibe and I love the textural element. They also sent me this mirror but i haven’t found the perfect home for it yet in my house. I often get asked about the mirror above my bed and actually Ethan Allen has a VERY SIMILAR one – I think it;s just a bit bigger than the one I have.
Lastly- and the thing I have gotten the most questions about recently is my new bedding. Oh my gosh you guys, it is STUNNING. Even more beautiful in person for sure. I have the duvet, shams, and beaded accent pillow. I am not going to lie, it’s REALLY hard to get out of this bed in the morning.
Just a note- some of Ethan Allen’s items are quick-ship, meaning you can’t customize it but you will get it delivered ASAP. A bunch of their quick-ship items are actually now available on Amazon which is so convenient! The items that are not quick ship are the custom ones like my bed, but like I said, the wait is SO worth it.
Ps. Because I know I will get asked, the paint in my bedroom is Benjamin Moore- Revere Pewter, lightened 50%.
Thank you to Ethan Allen Quincy, Ethan Allen Portland Maine and Ethan Allen Corporate for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own and genuine.
