Back to School with Janie & Jack…

back to school
When I think back to when I was a kid-going back to school meant one thing-getting new clothes! (Yes even at a young age I was always excited about clothes!) So I was extremely excited to partner up with Janie and Jack to showcase some amazing fall fashion for kids! I have never seen such cute back to school clothes in my life! Their pieces are beautiful and put together and just so special! Any kid would feel like a rock star wearing these gorgeous outfits!

One of the things I have always loved about Janie and Jack clothing is that they look like shrunken down adult clothes. I love getting the kids pieces that don’t look like kid’s clothes but more mini adult clothes. It’s just so cute. I think my husband has an identical grey flannel button down as Elliott’s and what I wouldn’t give to have a matching pink quilted jacket like Emmy’s!

Elliott’s Updated Nursery…

It’s been a LONG time since I did an updated nursery post. Elliott is now 9 months old! Time just flies. Some of the things in his room have stayed the same and some have changed. A few of the changes-

We got rid of his rug and started using these foam floor mats from Skiphop. They are absolutely my favorite. We have them in a few different rooms in our house. We decided to get rid of his rug because he has eczema and we weren’t sure what was contributing so the thought was if there was dust or cat fur in the rug, it would be best just to take it away.

Another thing we changed were his rocker and dresser. I wanted a dresser that was wider than the one we started out with. Everything would just fall off whenever I changed him on it. Hence why there is a small shelf above the dresser. I was putting his lotions and creams there until we decided to get a longer dresser. I still keep them there but at least we have more room now!

As I just mentioned, we also changed out the rocker. I did love the previous rocker but it wasn’t all that big. Elliott’s room is definitely on the small side so we needed to keep that in mind when selecting furniture pieces but the rocker was just too small. The new rocker by DaVinci it so much deeper and it has a foot rest/recline option. We just love it!

One thing I rarely show on social media is our family room/play room mostly because it’s a big mess 99% of the time. We keep the majority of the kids toys in there. I had originally got this bookcase thinking it would fit in Elliott’s room but once it was delivered and assembled, we realized it was WAY too big and wouldn’t fit. We ended up moving it to the family room along with these cute baskets which I got to keep more toys in and I just love it. It’s such a fun and playful statement piece for a kids room or play area. It also comes in white which I didn’t notice until it was too late but the grey is also nice!

Oh! The only other thing I wanted to point out. As you may know from following me a while- I am a HUGE fan of Dyson products. From their hairdryer, to cordless vacuum, to their humidifers. I keep a humidifer in Elliott’s room and one in Emmy’s room. It gets incredibly dry here in the winter so we use it all throughout the colder months. However, you can also use them in the warmer summer months too. You just drain the water and it acts as a fan. So although it is on the pricier side, we use ours all year long so it’s worth it. for us!

I can’t wait until Elliott is old enough to start using his rocking lion. Emmy has claimed it as hers for the time being but pretty soon I am sure Elliott will be rocking like his big sis!

Elliott’s New Ride: UPPAbaby Hide & Seek!

Was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory anyone else’s favorite movie as a kid? It was mine! For years I always thought about finding the golden ticket when I would open a chocolate bar! I never found one but now is your chance to find your own special ticket! UPPAbaby has hidden 5 tickets in their Gregory CRUZ strollers and if you get one of the strollers with the ticket in it, your stroller is FREE! How awesome is that?! You can get more details about the Hide & Seek Promotion HERE! What a fun opportunity.

UPPAbaby has always been one of my very favorite brands for strollers and car seats. The new Gregory CRUZ stroller is HANDS-DOWN the most gorgeous stroller I have EVER seen! The new Blue Marl canopy is gorgeous and the leather accents on the handle and bumper bar put it over the top in terms of looks. I’m all for functionality but I also want a stroller that looks good! This one is an absolute stunner. It totally looks like the materials come from the interior of some decked-out luxury vehicle. Just gorgeous.

In terms of assembly, I’ll usually wait for my husband to assemble things as sometimes I find the components are either too heavy, poorly designed, or it’s just too difficult and frustrating. This was my first time putting a stroller together and I was able to do it all by myself and in less than 5 minutes. The instructions were crystal clear and easy to follow. Literally 5 minutes after opening the box I had Elliott laughing and smiling as I wheeled him around our kitchen.

Let’s be honest here, sometimes as a mom I feel like I just don’t have enough hands. I feel like I’m always either holding our kids or trying to drag around some poorly-designed child necessity. This is where the convenience and ease of use of this stroller comes in. The UPPAbaby Cruz folds like a dream. One hand, easy and done. The next thing that usually happens with a stroller is that once folded it either ends up laying messily on the floor or I have to find something to balance it against, while it tries to continue to roll away from me. If it weren’t such a pain, it would almost be laughable. Again – not the case with the Cruz. Once folded, this stroller actually stands up. That’s right. It stands up on it’s own. It’s like magic. This may seem like not such a big deal, but trust me… You don’t know how frustrating dealing with a difficult stroller is until you’ve tried this. I LOVE it!

Not only is this a stunning stroller but it also handles well too. The ride is smooth, it’s super easy to pack up and assembly was a breeze. I am so impressed with Elliott’s new ride and I know you will be too! Hopefully one (or five of you!) will be one of the Hide & Seek winners!

One Big Happy!

I will take any excuse to get these two kids dressed up and coordinated. Easter was always my favorite holiday as a kid for the simple fact that I loved bunny stuffed animals. I think my love for these furry, floppy-eared creatures has rubbed off on Emmy because she is equally as in love with bunnies as I was. She sleeps with at least 4 every night and when I tuck her in I have to put her bunnies ears on her ears and that’s how she falls asleep! It’s the cutest thing. I digress- anyways! I was so excited to partner with Gymboree on their One Big Happy campaign and get them dressed up in adorable outfits and make a fun morning of it for Emmy (and Elliott of course).

Plaid Shirt / Fedora / Linen Pants / Boat Shoes

Bow Espadrilles / Bow Purse / Dress / Necklace / Bedding / Rug

We got dressed up- took some cute pictures and played and then hid Easter eggs all around the play room for Emmy to find. She had so much fun and looked adorable! I also love how she has (finally) taken to Elliott and just LOVES him. She kisses him and hugs him all the time and he absolutely adores it!

You can shop these outfits and so much more on the Gymboree website. I love how you can make complete head to toe coordinating outfits for your kids. It makes getting dressed for special occasions so much easier. They have everything from matching socks to necklaces and bow ties! Emmy loves picking out all the fun little extras like her purse and bracelet! She’s such a girly girl 🙂

Janie and Jack for Spring!

You all know I love shopping for clothes for myself, right? I think it’s pretty obvious! But I actually love shopping for my babies even more! There is nothing cuter than kids’ clothes. When people found out I was having a boy, I heard a lot of them say it’s hard to find good boy clothes. There are tons of cute girl clothes but not as much for boys. Well, I am here to tell you that is absolutely false! Janie and Jack is one of my favorite places to shop for the kids. Their little boy clothes are like shrunken-down men’s clothes. They have the most adorable stuff ever! I went a little crazy with their spring collections. The stuff is just TOO CUTE!
